Origins

From my earliest memories, I always loved to read but it was creating my own short story in the 2nd grade, that ignited my passion for writing. Reading and writing became bonded to me and each other. As I grew, often times I could read a book in a day and my writing took many genres including poetry.  School writing assignments were welcomed as it opened me up to different topics.  In high school and at the university, I excelled at language arts, especially literature and humanities classes.

With regular recognition and feedback on my writing coupled with often perfect grades for my written work, I often got the opportunity to help other students needing my literary skills. I found that I enjoyed working with and helping solve problems that sometimes went well beyond proofreading or editing.

During professional career, I have had many opportunities to write my own content as well as ghostwrite, edit, and proofread for authors of published books, manuscripts, magazines, web articles and in corporate communications. I have always been meticulous, productive, and even gifted in those areas while my love of reading and writing have never faded. I am grateful for being easy to work with, building social networks of longtime friends and getting opportunities to work with others to solve problems and have the honor to help people with their literary endeavors.

Skills

In addition to writing in formats from creating a complete script for a Veterans group’s televised event, to assisting with fiction and nonfiction books and user manuals for a global corporation, I also employ some technical and other skills. I have both created and deployed Excel and DOS macros scripts to automate redundant and time-consuming tasks that led to increased productivity.
